Birthday girl

Image
Someone is turning six years old this week.  As birthdays are usually a time of joy and celebration for most, they can be a time of mixed feelings for those who are adopted.  We enter this week knowing we truly don't even know the day she came into this world and that the day was met with the most uncertain circumstances.  We can only speculate what happened for the next month, but we know  her mother gave her life and then made a selfless, life changing decision in HOPE of her receiving medical care.  A decision that would eventually lead this sweet girl to us.  Huahua would endure the next 2.5 years of hardships in an orphanage.  Things we will never know and memories she will never forget. Nesting---Preparing for the boys

We are among the hardest part of adoption---the long wait for the LOA (letter of acceptance) from the C. government.  The boys are preapproved for our family and all our paperwork sits on their desks awaiting final approval.  Although this time hurts, we must recognize everything will happen according to God's perfect will and timing.  Our dossier (the packet of paperwork sent) is littered with the message of Christ and how we live our lives for Him.  Everyday this packet of paperwork sits upon the desk of a worker and maybe, just maybe, His glory will shine through to those who have yet to hear the good news.  We pray our wait is not in vain and there is a purpose for everyday.  We are some what of a tourist attraction to the locals here so we have learned to just go with it and call it our celebrity status.  I don't think it's our good looks-but purely the combination of children, hair and eye colors that have people really confused and guessing!  If we stay in one place for too long we have a a group of people surrounding us and taking pictures, so we have taken to taking pictures of them now too!  It gets most people smiling and everyone having a good time.  On a serious note- it's sad that people can not even imagine how our family could all possibly go together. We feel as natural as ever- God given and created with love.  Today when we left the orphanage and the nannies told our guide our family has so much love within it, and yes we do.  Only because we live for a God that loves us so much that we can live our lives serving him in obedience.  That's why we feel so loved! Today we went to the center of Chongqing. ...
